Hart's Location NH Overview & MLS Listings
Incorporated in 2001. This long, narrow piece of land encompassing Crawford Notch bears the name of Colonel John Hart, who had fought in the French War. Hart's Location was the site of the famous Willey's Slide, an avalanche that killed Samuel Willey and his entire family in 1826. Mount Willey is named in their honor. The town is also the gravesite of Abel Crawford, for whom Crawford Notch is named. Every four years this tiny community gains national attention when, along with Dixville Notch, its residents are the first to cast votes in the New Hampshire presidential primary and election.
